Nikolaj Coster–Waldau was born on 27th July 1970, at Rudkobing, Denmark. Coster-Waldau had an interest in acting from his childhood. He was the youngest actor who entered the Danish National School of Theatre and Contemporary Dance. Coster-Waldau’s made his stage debut in Hamlet as Laertes at Betty Nansen Theatre. His role in, 1994 film Nightwatch, brought him fame in Denmark. In 1997, he made his debut in British film Bent (1997) alongside Clive Owen, Jude Law and Mick Jaggar. Martin’s fantasy novel series A Song of Ice and Fire. The same year he starred in Mateo Gil’s feature, Blackthorn. The feature premiered in Tribeca Film Festival. Also in the year he starred in Headhunters by Morten Tyldum. In 2013, Coster-Waldau starred along side Jessica Chastain in Andy Muschietti’s supernatural horror film Mama(2013). The next year he starred in a Danish thriller, A Second Chance, by Susanne Bier as a police officer.
In 2016, Coster-Waldau starred in Gods of Egypt by Alex Proyas. The next year he acted in E.L. Katz’s dark comedy Small Crimes. In the same year, he appeared in a Danish thriller film 3 Things. He went to play Jacob Harlon, a successful stock broker in the crime thriller film Shot Caller (2017). The film premiered in Los Angeles Film Festival.
