No Guns Life Season 2: Premiere Date, Plot, Characters

‘No Guns Life’ is pretty much of a retro-futuristic cyberpunk anime that has everything from violence to gun slinging action to political messages. From an aesthetic standpoint, the anime has some dark and gritty backgrounds with stark contrasting colors in its palette. The character designs here play a key role since you don’t usually get to see partial-mecha characters with revolvers as their heads. Speaking of the characters, I personally did not expect much, especially from the ones with side roles. But the main character, with his detailed design and badass personality, seems quite promising and perfectly fits the role of a savage ex-soldier cyborg.

It is the kind of show that takes its own time to develop, so as a viewer, you have to be a little patient with it. As of now, it seems like a pretty good cyber noir anime which, if not anything else, can certainly be a visual feast for all action fans. So before you start watching this one, just make sure that you’re a little patient with its story as it does eventually show a lot of potential.

No Guns Life Plot:

‘No Guns Life” centers around an ex-soldier named Juuzou Inui who is now one of the “Extended”. The Extended are basically war soldiers who were turned into cyborgs and when their job in the war was done, they were all discharged. But now, Juuzou has absolutely no memories of his past and walks around with a gun on his head. Succumbing to his meaningless existence, he just gets by with life by working as a Resolver.

On the run from the Security Bureau, a fellow Extended shows up at his office one day and tells him about his son who has been kidnapped. He desperately asks Juzi for help who unanimously says yes to his plea for help. Soon, the two of them set out on a quest to save the man’s son but this mission won’t come to them so easily since almost everyone, from street mafias to megacorporations, is hunting down the young boy. And not to mention, they’ll also have to face a special agent who knows exactly how to deal with cyborgs of their kind.

No Guns Life Characters:

Juzo Inui

Juzo Inui is the main character of the series who becomes a Gun Slave Unit during a war. Now he works as a processor and tries to help his fellow cyborgs, known as Extends. He is a heavily muscular guy who wears a long sleeve t-shirt. He has a huge frame and he usually sports a green army jacket all the time. Instead of an actual human face, he has a metallic jaw and chin along with a revolver resting on his head. The revolver has an actual trigger and handle at the back of his head. Even his right arm has a gun-like appearance and can be used as a weapon. He is very self-sufficient and only lives by one motto in life—”Wipe your own a**.”He is strong enough to survive in the most brutal conditions but often tries to stay away from humid regions as moisture could rust his metal body parts.

More than once, he mentions that he hates children but even then, he never really holds himself back when it comes to saving the life of any child. He tries not to show his vulnerable side but has a really big heart. The revolver on his head is rarely used, and strangely, since its trigger is at the back of his head, it can be used by someone else who is standing behind him. His right hand is his standard weapon and is strong enough to even stop a bullet train. He is also extremely strong and packs some devastating superhuman blows that can easily kill a normal person.
