Oscars 2016 Winners Announced; Spotlight Wins Best Picture; Check Out Full List of Winners

The winners of Oscars 2016 were announced tonight. Three and a half major upsets happened: Sly lost Best Supporting Actor to Mark Rylance and Ex Machina won Best Visual Effects over heavy-weights like Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Mad Max: Fury Road and Sam Smith Bond Song “Writings on the Wall” (the worst song among the nominees, in my opinion) won over Lady Gaga’s song “Til It Happens to You”. Finally, Best Picture wasn’t a real upset. The Revenant was expected to win, but as night went on, it started looking more and more that Spotlight would win Best Picture. Mad Max ended the night with most number of wins: six.
