Ozark Season 4

Since its premiere on July 21, 2017, ‘Ozark’ has been winning the hearts of the audiences and critics for its gripping storyline fuelled by dark realism, brilliant performances, and bleak and immersive cinematography by Ben Kutchins. The crime drama follows the life of Marty Bryde, who leads a double life as a financial advisor and a money launderer for a dangerous Mexican drug cartel. When things go south, he moves his family from Chicago to Ozark, to conduct his business and keep them safe.

Owing to its ever-increasing popularity, the show has won several awards and spawned a total of three successful seasons. The third season premiered in March 2020. As fans are done binge-watching their favorite show, they are anxiously waiting for any news on ‘Ozark’ season 4 release date. Well, here’s everything we know.

Ozark Season 4 Release Date

‘Ozark’ season 3 premiered in its entirety on March 27, 2020, on Netflix. It consists of 10 episodes with a runtime of 60-65 minutes each.

As far as season 4 is concerned, here’s what we know. Season 3 managed to reignite the essence of the previous seasons and hence, received steady ratings and reviews. Moreover, if we talk about the ending of the third season, there is going to be a lot of trouble in Marty and Wendy’s paradise, after what transpired between them, Navarro and Helen. So, the show definitely warrants another season.

In fact, in a conversation with Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Chris Mundy talked about the future of the show. He said, “We’ve always talked about it as five seasons. It could be four, it could be seven … but that always seemed like a good number to us.” Considering the show’s success and Mundy’s plan, the chances of Netflix renewing the show for a fourth season is quite high.  You can expect ‘Ozark’ season 4 to release sometime in Fall 2021, on Netflix.

Ozark Season 4 Cast: Who is in it?

‘Arrested Development’ alum Jason Bateman, who has also won an Emmy for Outstanding Direction for his exceptional work in the episode ‘Reparations,’ will return in season 4 as the Chicago-based financial analyst turned money launderer, Marty Bryde. Along with Jason, ‘Tales of the City’ star Laura Linney will return as Wendy Bryde, Marty’s wife. Sofia Hublitz and Skylar Gaertner will also be coming back to play Marty and Wendy’s children Charlotte and Jonah, respectively. ‘We Are What We Are’ actor Julia Garner will reprise her role as Ruth Langmore.

The other returning characters can include Felix Solis as Omar Navarro, Joseph Sikora as Frank Cosgrove Jr., Madison Thompson as Erin Pierce, Marylouise Burke as Sue Shelby, Lisa Emery as Darlene Snell, and Jessica Frances Duke (‘Jessica Jones’) as FBI agent Maya Miller, etc. Tom Pelphrey and Janet McTeer, who play Ben Davis and Helen Pierce respectively, will not be returning for another round. Season 4 might also add some fresh faces to the cast.

Ozark Season 4 Plot: What can it be About?

Season 3 picks up six months after the second season. On Wendy’s insistence, the Brydes give up their decision to move from Ozark, which causes a rift between the husband and wife. The season revolves around the Bryde family’s mammoth undertakings surrounding the riverboat casino. Throughout the season, Helen tries her best to turn Navarro against the Brydes, and Ruth struggles to evade the scrutiny of Frank Cosgrove Jr. In the intense finale, Navarro kills Helen, giving Marty and Wendy a reward for their loyalty. In a weird turn of events, Ben meets his fate and dies, causing Ruth to gang up with Darlene and turn on the Brydes. Ben’s death also leaves an impact on Jonah. But fortunately, the Brydes are alive.

Season 4 is going to be a tumultuous ride for fans of the Bryde family. With Ruth joining hands with Darlene, there is a high chance that the two might band together with the KC mob to wreak havoc on Marty and Wendy’s business. After killing Helen over the duo, Navarro might have the upper hand over them. A bitter power struggle might ensue if all the rival factions turn against the Brydes, causing them to fight for their survival as a family. Since Wendy is responsible for Ben’s death, will Jonah leave the side of his family to join the opposition? It’s a long stretch, but since the dynamics on the show change at the drop of a hat, anything can happen.
