Peter Dinklage to Join Rosamund Pike in the Thriller ‘I Care a Lot’

Game of Thrones‘ star Peter Dinklage is in talks to join the upcoming thriller ‘I Care a Lot’ alongside Rosamund Pike, reports Variety. J Blakeson wrote the screenplay and is set to helm the project which is scheduled to start production in June 2019. The plot follows Marla Grayson (played by Pike), an ambitious and cunning legal guardian who knows how to bend laws and manipulate clients for her gain. But when she meets a seemingly perfect client for her schemes, she realizes that the usual legal tropes are too powerless to save her from danger. Dinklage’s character in the movie is kept under tight wraps.

Teddy Schwarzman’s Black Bear is fully financing the project and producing in association with Blakeson’s Sugar November. Schwarzman, Ben Stillman, Michael Heimler, and Blakeson are the producers. Sacha Guttenstein also joins the projects as executive producer. Black Bear Productions is known for movies like ‘Imitation Game‘ and ‘Ben is Back.’

“Black Bear is thrilled to partner with J and Rosamund to bring ‘I Care A Lot’ to life. Schwarzman told Deadline in March. “J has written one of the boldest and most entertaining scripts we’ve ever read, and we have been a fan of J’s work ever since seeing ‘The Disappearance Of Alice Creed.’ We can think of no one better to play ‘I Care A Lot’s’ fierce, intelligent and unrelenting lead than Rosamund Pike, who deserves all the accolades she’s received to date and more. We can’t wait to see Rosamund do something truly memorable with this iconic role,” he added.

‘I Care a Lot’ marks Dinklage’s first major role in a feature film after ‘Game of Thrones‘ wrapped up in May 2019, ending its historic eight-season run on HBO. The actor earned three Emmys for his performance as the iconic character Tyrion Lannister in the fantasy drama series. Though he was busy with the long and exhaustive schedule of ‘Game of Thrones’ final season, Dinklage appeared in movies like ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ and lent his voice to ‘Angry Birds Movie 2.’

Pike recently received widespread critical praise for her portrayal of the character Marie Colvin in the movie ‘A Private War’ directed by Matt Heineman. Described as the “portrait of a reporter in the line of fire,” by The Guardian, the war epic features the renowned American journalist Marie Colvin, who is known for high-risk reporting jobs from war fronts and sacrificed her life while reporting the siege of Homs from Syria. Pike got a Golden Globe-nomination for her performance as Colvin in the movie.
