How did Property Brothers earn their money and wealth?

Property Brothers is a reality TV series which is based in Canada and features identical twin brothers Jonathan and Drew Scott who are on a home renovation mission. The Scott Brothers are twins Drew and Jonathan who were born on April 28, 1978, in Vancouver, Canada. In the show both the brothers collaborate with each other as Drew is a real estate expert while Jonathan is a licensed contractor. Drew scouts of old homes that can be bought and Jonathan renovates and spruces up the old houses. They have been able to help several families to find, buy and transform the old property into their dream homes. Both the brothers work on a tight schedule and budget. Prior to Property Brothers, they have both appeared in small roles in television series like “The X-Files”, “Breaker High” and “Smallville”.

Property Brothers started after Drew received an offer from Cineflix to host a show with a female co-host. When Cineflix came to know that he had a twin brother who was also into real estate, they asked them to make a short video of themselves. The brothers made a video where they made over their brother’s living room. Cineflix got back to them after six months and they started filming their pilot episode in one month’s time in 2004. The show has garnered many followers as it is aired in more than 105 countries.

Post Property Brothers, the popularity of the show has led to other spin-offs such as “Brother Vs Brother”, “Property Brothers Take on New Orleans” amongst others.

The brothers founded “Scott Real Estate” in 2004 where they focused on sale and construction of commercial and residential projects. They have offices in Vancouver, Las Vegas and Calgary. They also started “Scott Brothers Entertainment” in 2010 as an independent production company. Such is the popularity of the brothers that they embarked on a 13 city tour where they met with fans and shared their story. They have also written two books. They have recently signed up with Royal Caribbean and started their own cruise. The brothers have also come up with their own line of furnishings “Scott Living” in 2017. They also started another brand “Dream Homes by Scott Living” where they build and sell exclusive luxury homes.

Property Brothers is in its seventh season now. The show has won many awards and nominations like the “Leo Award” in 2012 for “Best Host(s) in an Information or Lifestyle Series”. The same year they were nominated for a “Rose d’Or Award” in the lifestyle category. They have recently won the “Canadian Screen Awards” in 2018 for “Best Lifestyle Program or Series”.
