Ralph Carter was born on 30th May 1961 in New York City, New York, USA. Carter is a singer as well as an actor. He worked in the Broadway musical Raisin, both as a child and a teenager. Raisin is the musical theatre adaptation of the play A Raisin in the Sun, by Lorraine Hansberry. The musical began in 1973 and premiered on Broadway. Carter acted as Travis in the musical. It won a Tony Award for Best Musical and Carter was nominated for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical. Carter won the Theatre World Award for his performance in Raisin.

Carter released a record, “Extra Extra” in 1970. Later, she appeared in an episode of documentary series E! True Hollywood Story. Carter was a cast member in the sitcom Good Times by Eric Monte and Mike Evans that was aired on CBS. Carter played the role of Micheal Evans in the series. The sitcom began in 1973 and continued till 1979.

In 1976, Carter released his record “You And In Love” by Mercury Records. He also released the single “ When You’re Young And In Love”. Carter also acted in “Dude”, “Via Galactica” and also in “The Karl Marx Play”.
