How did Robin Thicke earn his money and wealth?

Robin Thicke is a singer as well as a songwriter and a music producer. He was born on March 10, 1977, in Los Angeles, California. Both his parents were actors and he has acted in small roles as a young child in popular TV shows like “The Wonder Years”, Just The Ten of Us”, “The New Lassie” and “Growing Pains”. Although Thicke’s parents were supportive of his interest in music they did not financially support him when he and his vocal group needed money from them to produce a demo tape. They wanted Thicke to finish his education before committing to music full time. The money from the demo tape was paid by Al Jarreau, a jazz vocalist and an uncle to one of the group members. Thicke was introduced to Brian McKnight who helped him get signed up with a record label. Interscope Records signed Thicke at the age of 16.

Before Thicke made a name for himself as a singer, he was known for his songwriting skills and for being a producer of other artists. He has collaborated and co-written for Brandy in “Love Is On My Side”, 3T’s “Brotherhood”, Jordan Knight’s “Give It to You” and Christina Aguilera’s “When You Put Your Hands on Me” amongst others.

Thicke released his first album with Epic Records and titled it “A Beautiful World” (2003) and his debut single was released in 2002 titled “When I Get You Alone”.  This single rose the charts slowly and went on to Top 3 in the Netherlands. His next album was “The Evolution of Robin Thicke” (2006) which was produced by Pharrell Willams’ record label, Star Trek. The album included the hit single “Wanna Love U Girl” which was later released as a remix version with Busta Rhymes. The second hit single of the album was “Lost Without U” which went on to peak at number 14 in the Billboard Hot 100 charts. The album was certified by the RIAA as Platinum and it became a commercial success after the sale of 1.5 million copies.

Thicke performed the single “Lost Without U” on the Oprah Winfrey Show in 2007. Thicke’s third studio album was titled “Some Else” (2008) and it peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 charts. The album included hit singles “Magic” and “The Sweetest Love”. He performed these songs in an episode of “The Bachelor” on ABC. His next album “Sex Therapy” was released in 2009 which was followed by “Love After War” in 2011. He released “Blurred Lines” in 2013 and “Paula” in 2014.
