‘Running Wild With Bear Grylls’ is an American survival reality television show that used to air on NBC but later shifted to the National Geographic Channel. The show first premiered on July 28, 2014 and has been created by Delbert Shoopman.
Bear Grylls needs no introduction since he became rather famous with his show ‘Man vs. Wild’. However, what’s even better than seeing this survivalist hack it out in the wild? Seeing him do it with A-list celebrities. It is a proven phenomenon that people are drawn to celebrities more, and we are interested in knowing every facet of their lives.
Since the images they portray to us is a perfect one, there is a voyeuristic need that lies within us that goes to a degree of perversion and makes us want to see how celebrities behave when they are not being watched or when they are out of their comfort zones. We get the latter here as Grylls takes them on outdoor adventures and push them beyond their comfort zones.
The show has had five successful seasons so far. Now the question is, will there be a ‘Running Wild With Bear Grylls’ season 6? We will delve into that question, but first let’s quickly look into the details of the series.
Running Wild With Bear Grylls Cast: Who is in it?
With a new big star featuring in every episode, ‘Running Wild With Bear Grylls’ is filled with some big names which include Zac Efron, Ben Stiller, Channing Tatum, Tom Arnold, Tamron Hall, Deion Sanders (NFL Hall of Famer) from Season 1. Michelle Rodriguez, James Marsden, Michael Jordan, Drew Brees, Barack Obama, Nick Jonas, Julianne Hough, Courteney Cox, Shaquille O’Neal, Julia Roberts, and Vanessa Hudgens. And Season 4 had some more bigwigs like Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Keri Russell, Don Cheadle, Roger Federer, and Lena Headey. Season 5 had names like Brie Larson, Channing Tatum and Armie Hammer.
It goes without saying that season 6, if and when it happens, will also have A-list celebrities join Grylls on his adventure.
What’s Running Wild With Bear Grylls About?
‘Running Wild With Bear Grylls’ works on the same concept as ‘Man vs. Wild’ except for the fact that here Grylls is accompanied by a celebrity. They go on insane journeys which range from climbing cliffs in Utah to skydiving in the Catskill Mountains. The episode with Barack Obama received a lot of attention as the ex-president hiked through Exit Glacier with Grylls and discussed the need for environmental protection and the dangers of climate change and the impact it has on the Alaskan wilderness. At the time of airing, the show became the highest rated unscripted show for some time. It is ultimately a test to see if fame and its accompanying luxuries and comforts have made our celebrities soft.
When is Running Wild With Bear Grylls Season 6 Release Date?
‘Running Wild With Bear Grylls’ Season 5 premiered on November 5, 2019 and came to an end after 10 episodes on January 21, 2020.
As far as the next season goes, we don’t have an official announcement yet. Though considering the popularity of the show, we would be surprised if it doesn’t get another season.
