How did Sarah Jessica Parker earn her money and wealth?

Popularly known as Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City, Sarah Jessica Parker is an American actress, producer, and designer. She was born on the 25th of March in 1965 as one of the eight children of nursery school operator and teacher Barbara Parker and entrepreneur and journalist Stephen Parker Nelsonville of Ohio. Her brothers Timothy Parker and Pippin Parker are also actors. She started her singing and ballet training right from an early age and during the time was cast in the Broadway revival of William Archibald’s The Innocents.

During her childhood days, the Parker family shifted to Cincinnati and then later to Dobbs Ferry in New York. It was with the immense support of her mother and stepfather whom her mother married after her separation with her father that Sarah was encouraged to step into the field of acting. When Sarah was 12, the family moved to Roosevelt Island and then to Manhattan before settling in New Jersey wherein she attended Dwight Morrow High School. She has also attended the School of American Ballet in New York City, the New York Professional Children’s School, the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, and Hollywood High School in Los Angeles.

In 1977, Parker was selected to play the part of July in the Broadway musical Annie but later went on to play the lead of Depression-era orphan beginning in 1979. She continued portraying the lead for a year. Soon after that in 1982, she appeared as the co-lead in the CBS sitcom Square Pegs that went on to complete the first season. Parker’s role gained pretty much appreciation and she was seen in the films Footloose in 1984, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun in 1985 and Flight of the Navigator in 1986. Footloose did well at the box office and Parker began being noticed as an actress. After the 1991 movie L.A.Story, Parker was then cast opposite Nicholas cage in Honeymoon in Vegas the very next year in 1992. In 1993, Parker was spotted opposite Bruce Willis in the film Striking Distance.

The following year, Sarah was seen opposite Johnny Depp in Ed Wood and in 1995 she played the lead role in the film Miami Rhapsody. In 1997, the comedy ‘Til There Was You was released in which Parker was seen portraying the lead.

HBO series Sex and the City premiered in 1998 and was created by Darren Star. Parker played the role of Carrie Bradshaw who also is the narrator of the storyline until its sixth and final season end in 2004. She also bagged an Emmy for her lead role. Other notable works of Parker include Life Without Dick, Sex and the City 2, New Year’s Eve and Escape from Planet Earth. She has also endorsed many international brands including Garnier and Gap. In 2014, Parker started her footwear line called SJP Collection in Nordstrom.
