Sarah Kate Silverman was born on the 1st of December in 1970 in Bedford in New Hampshire as the youngest of the five kids of George McGovern’s personal campaign photographer and founder of the theater company New Thalian Players Beth Ann and social worker and owner of the clothing store Crazy Sophie’s Outlet Donald Silverman. Sarah is an American comedian, actress, producer, and writer. She was raised in Manchester, New Hampshire. Her sisters are all famous in different arenas with Susan Silverman being a Reform Rabbi, Laura Silverman being an actress and Jodyne Silverman being a screenwriter. Sarah completed her schooling in The Derryfield School in Manchester and later went on to be enrolled at the New York University but ended up dropping out after an year. At the age of 17, Silverman performed stand-up comedy for the first time in Boston. After dropping out of college she carried on her stand-up career in Greenwich Village.

Sarah Silverman set foot in the world of stand-up comedy in 1992 and soon after became a part of the 1993–94 season of Saturday Night Live for a period of 18 weeks where she was seen as a writer and a performer. After dropping out from Saturday Night Live, she went on to appear in The Larry Sanders Show episode “The New Writer” in 1996 during its final two seasons. She was then seen starring in the HBO sketch comedy series Mr. Show and then in a leading role in the 1997 independent film Who’s the Caboose?

It was in the year 1997 that Silverman made her network standup comedy debut on the Late Show with David Letterman. After a few more appearances in TV shows like Star Trek: Voyager, Future’s End, The Money, VIP, Greg the Bunny and Crank Yankers.

In the year 2005, Sarah Silverman released a concert film that went by the name Sarah Silverman: Jesus Is Magic and grossed at a $1.3 million at the box office besides earning much appreciation from the critics. In 2007, Silverman’s title show The Sarah Silverman Program premiered on Comedy Central network. It had a massive 1.81 million viewership. She went on to be nominated at the Primetime Emmy Awards for her acting in the show.
