Shameless Season 10: Premiere Date, Cast, Trailer, Spoilers & News

Shameless is a fiercely engaging and fearlessly twisted series. It is one of those shows that you can’t get enough of. It follows Frank played by William H. Macy, a single dad to six kids who would be better off without him. Emmy Rossum stars as Frank’s eldest daughter Fiona and she is the only one trying to keep the family together. The show has received wide critical acclaim over the course of its eight seasons and has a very large fanbase. It had the biggest season in terms of viewership last year and this made the renewal a sure thing. It has been created by Paul Abbott. It premiered on Showtime on January 9, 2011.

Shameless Cast: Who is in it?

William H. Macy will reprise his role as Frank Gallagher. It seems likely that other cast members coming back could be Jeremy Allen White as Philip “Lip” Gallagher, Ethan Cutkosky as Carl Gallagher, Shanola Hampton as Veronica Fisher, Steve Howey as Kevin Ball, Emma Kenney as Deborah “Debbie” Gallagher and Cameron Monaghan as Ian Gallagher.

While Emmy Rossum returned as Frank’s eldest daughter Fiona Gallagher in season 9, it is reported that we won’t see any more of her in the upcoming seasons.

“This kind of stability, this family, has nurtured me and made feel safe enough to stretch and grow creatively,” she said. “The way John Wells has shepherded me as an actress, and more recently how he’s encouraged me wholeheartedly as a director and a writer, has been an honor and a privilege.”

Season eight marked the last for Isidora Goreshter as Svetlana Yevgenivna Fisher. The actress announced that she would be making an exit and won’t be in season nine and its following seasons.

Shameless Plot: What is it about?

Fans can expect more of the same from ‘Shameless’ with Frank continuing with his strange antics and Fiona trying to keep her family together. Season 9 took a political angle with the family attempting to “take justice into their own hands.”

Speaking about the recommission, Showtime President David Nevins said: “As challenging as it can be for any show simply to maintain viewers in the current TV landscape, Shameless is adding them in droves. But it’s no mystery why. The series’ reputation for rich and resonant characters and for deep–and deeply twisted–comedy has drawn not only faithful longtime viewers but a steadily growing audience.”

While Shameless showrunner John Wells added: “We are so grateful to Showtime for giving us the opportunity to continue making Shameless. It’s a labour of love (and a blast) for all of us.”

Shameless Season 10 Release Date: When will it premiere?

The ninth season of ‘Shameless’ was set an air date of September 9, 2018. Despite Rossum’s exit, John Wells has expressed his desire to continue telling “the stories of this wildly unpredictable family” whereas William H. Macy wants there to be at least 10 seasons to Shameless and jokingly remarked he would do it for free. While there is no confirmation on an upcoming season, it seems very likely that a season 10 will be made. If Season 10 does get renewed, release date is expected to be sometime in 2020. Though, it remains to be seen how Rossum’s exit will be played out. Stay tuned.
