Will There be a Signs Season 2?

July 22, 2020

‘Signs’ aka ‘Znaki’ is a Polish drama, infused with classic Nordic noir vibes, which is an evergreen favorite of Netflix. The thriller has already drawn comparisons to ‘The Woods’, another hit Polish crime show. In fact, it contains all the elements necessary to make it an addictive watch. We have some sickening and creepy dark arts, chilly aesthetics, excellent cinematography, and an intriguing story, which leaves us wanting more. That being said, if you have already finished watching all the episodes of ‘Signs’ season 1, here is what we know about its potential second edition.

Signs Season 2 Release Date:

‘Signs’ season 1 premiered on July 22, 2020, on Netflix, and consisted of eight episodes. It originally dropped in Poland on AXN on October 10, 2018, and ended on November 28, 2018. And the good news is, the show has already finished airing its second season in its home country. In Poland, season 2 ran from April 7, 2020, to May 26, 2020. Therefore, it is only a matter of time before the next iteration lands on the streamer for the international audience. Our best guess is, ‘Signs’ season 2 will release sometime in early 2021. It will consist of eight episodes just like its preceding installment.

Signs Season 2 Cast

Both seasons 1 and 2 feature Andrzej Konopka as the protagonist Commissioner Michał Trela, Helena Sujecka as a policewoman named Adrianna Nieradka, Piotr Trojan as sergeant Krzysztof Sobczyk, Michał Czernecki as Błażej Nieradka (Adrianna’s husband), Mirosław Kropielnicki as Mayor Antoni Paszke, Andrzej Mastalerz as the healer Jonasz, and Małgorzata Hajewska-Krzysztofik as Zofia Bławatska (Laura’s mother).

Other cast members are Magdalena Żak as Nina (Michal’s daughter), Helena Englert as Agata Paszke (Antoni’s daughter), Dobromir Dymecki as Robert Paszke (Antoni’s son and Laura’s ex), Robert Gulaczyk as Paweł Piotrowski, Paulina Gałązka as Dorota, Rafał Cieszyński as priest Roman Śmigielski, and Teresa Kwiatkowska as the housekeeper Bogumiła.

New additions in season 2 include Rafał Mohr as Twerski, Barbara Wypych as Kaja, Ewa Jakubowicz as Eliza Konieczna, Krzysztof Zawadzki as Adam, and Sławomir Grzymek as Feliks Szmidt.

Signs Season 2 Plot

Directed by Jakub Miszczak and Monika Filipowicz, season 1 of ‘Signs’ is set in the quaint yet eerie fictional town of Sowie Doły, seated atop the Owl Mountains. A student was killed in this area several years back but the case is still unresolved. When a woman is murdered at the lake near the local melaphyre mine, Commissioner Michał Trela starts uncovering clues that connect to the cold case of the slain student. What unravels is a twisted chain of events, closely interlinked with the fate of the town and its weird residents.

Season 2 is also set in Sowie Doly. But since season 1 wraps up its storyline, the second edition takes up a new mystery. This time, we follow the whereabouts of a couple of travelers who vanish in Poland’s Owl Mountains. But things get even more complicated when Trela’s own daughter disappears, followed by her friend. Evil in Sowie Doly has again made its appearance and Trela needs to crack the case before it’s too late.
