Single Parents Season 3

ABC’s sitcom television series ‘Single Parents’ first premiered on September 26, 2018, and garnered favorable reviews for putting a comical spin on the parental struggles. The J.J. Philbin and Elizabeth Meriwether creation was lauded for its witty dialogues, feel-good tone, and masterful comic timing of the child actors. The polished writing panel received acclaim for concocting a screenplay that is a perfect blend of emotions, valuable insights, and relatable character arcs.

The network renewed the parenting series for a second season, which ended in May 2020. Naturally, fans have been waiting for any news on the release date of ‘Single Parents’ season 3. Here’s everything we know about it.

Single Parents Season 3 Release Date: Renewed or Cancelled?

‘Single Parents’ season 2 premiered on September 25, 2019, on ABC and wrapped up on May 13, 2020, after airing 22 half-hour episodes.

Although the second season pretty much retained the essence of the first and left the door open for a potential third season, it couldn’t garner groundbreaking success. As a result, the probability of the show being granted another chance to entertain the viewers was low. And to affirm what fans had been dreading all along, ABC axed the series after its second outing. So, yes, unfortunately, ‘Single Parents’ season 3 stands officially cancelled.

Single Parents Cast: Who is in it?

The series stars Taran Killam as Will Cooper, a 30-something single father. Brad Garrett appears as Douglas Fogerty, a widowed single father to three children. Kimrie Lewis joins the cast as a snarky but kind single mother, Poppy Banks, while Jake Choi plays Miggy Park. Leighton Meester stars as a free-spirited single mother, Angie D’Amato. Adam Brody enacts the character of Derek.

Marlow Barkley appears as Will’s daughter, Sophie Cooper. Tyler Wladis stars as Graham D’Amato, who is named after the scraps dealer who rushed to a then-pregnant Angie’s aid in L.A. Devin Trey Campbell play Rory Banks, Poppy’s fashion-fanatic son. Mia Allan and Ella Allan join the cast as Emma and Amy Fogerty, Douglas’ twins.

Single Parents Plot: What is it About?

‘Single Parents’ introduces us to Will, a divorced man in his 30s who has completely forgotten what it is like to be a guy while raising his daughter. The other single parents notice Will’s situation and decide to re-introduce him to the dating world. They want to make him realize that parenting and one’s individual life can go side-by-side.

Towards the end of season 2, Angie feeds her inclination towards Derek by choosing to spend the summer with him in Barstow, as her daughter is away at a camp. As Will and Angie are packing for her trip, Angie gets super drunk on wine and wakes up the next day, utterly clueless about everything that transpired between her and Will, the night before. Poppy motivates Will to confess his true feelings for Angie as Derek lands at their door-step, to pick up Angie. On the other hand, Rory and Miggy spend their time in finding a hot and charming guy to sublet the house.
