How did Slash earn his money and wealth?

Saul Hudson, or as he is most commonly known, Slash is an English-American singer and songwriter named after Saul Steinberg. Born on July 23, 1965, in Hampstead, England, Slash was the lead guitarist of the rock band Guns N’ Roses. He is the son of Ola J. Hudson, an African-American costume designer with an elite clientele that also included David Bowie. His father is Anthony Hudson who was an English artist and has been associated with other artists such as  Neil Young and Joni Mitchell in creating cover albums for them. Slash’s parents divorced in 1974 and he started to live with his mother. He was often taken care of by his grandmother who looked after him when his mother was made to travel due to her job.

Slash attempted to start a band in 1979 with Steven Adler who was a friend of his. The band never came to be but it led Slash to take up an instrument to play. He fit himself into the role of a guitarist as he attempted to learn to play bass. He took classes at the Fairfax Music School from a teacher called from Robert Wolin. In 1985, Slash joined the then newly formed band Guns N’ Roses and they released their first album in 1987 called ‘Appetite for Destruction’ which has managed to sell over 28 million copies worldwide. In 1991 the band came out with not one but albums called ‘Use Your Illusion 1’ and ‘Use Your Illusion 2’ which debut on the U.S. chart at No. 2 and No. 1 respectively.

After leaving the Guns N’ Roses in 1996, Slash formed the band Slash’s Snakepit which released its first album called ‘It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere’ in 1995. The album titled ‘Slash’ was the first solo album released by Slashed and it came out in 2010 and debuted at No. 3 on the U.S. chart. The album featured a number of big-name celebrities including The Black Eyed Peas, Adam Levine, M. Shadows, Lemmy Kilmister, Dave Grohl, Iggy Pop, and Chris Cornell. Slash’s second solo album was released in 2014 and was titled ‘Apocalyptic Love.

Aside from a great music career, Slash also appeared in a slew of movies and television shows and includes the movie ‘The Dead Pool’, and shows like ‘Tales From the Crypt’, ‘MADtv’, and ‘Kid Notorious’ are just a few.

He was named as number 2 by the Time magazine on the list of “The 10 Best Electric Guitar Players” in 2009 and also the Rolling Stone ranked him the 65th player on their list of “The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time”.
