‘Grey’s Anatomy’ is a mainstay at ABC, which has amassed an enormous fan base over the seasons. The show’s popularity has led to two spin-offs, both of which are almost equally well-loved. Yes, we are talking about ‘Private Practice’ and ‘Station 19‘. While the former is also a medical drama of sorts, the latter deals with the lives of firefighters at the titular Station 19.

We follow their personal and professional lives, over the seasons, which results in several dramatic moments. Their days are filled with adventures, love, and often heartbreaks. The series has delivered three fantastic seasons, which might make you wonder whether ‘Station 19’ Season 4 is in the pipelines. We have got you covered with the latest updates.

Station 19 Season 4 Release Date: When Will It Premiere?

‘Station 19’ season 3 premiered on January 23, 2020, on ABC. After spanning 16 episodes, it ended on May 14, 2020.

For fans who are waiting with bated breath to know whether the show has been renewed, we have some good news. ABC had renewed the show for Season 4 in March 2020. Not only has the viewer ratings for ‘Station 19’ Season 3 been superb, but the show often has crossover episodes with ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ too. Speaking about the renewal, the president of ABC Entertainment said to Deadline, “This addictive, rich show is hitting series highs this year for a reason, and we can’t wait to deliver more great stories to our passionate audience.” The fourth season is expected to air in the 2020-2021 television season.

Typically, we’d expect Season 4 to air by January 2021. However, production is bound to have stopped for now, due to coronavirus pandemic. Taking the delayed process into account, ‘Station 19’ Season 4 is likely to release sometime in Spring 2021.

Station 19 Season 4 Cast: Who Can Be In It?

Among the main cast members who are expected to return in Season 4 is Jaina Lee Ortiz as Andrea “Andy” Herrera. Andy is Pruitt’s daughter and was the co-acting captain at Station 19. Jason George is likely to reprise the role of Benjamin “Ben” Warren, Grey Damon might be back as Jack Gibson, and Barrett Doss is expected to reappear Victoria “Vic” Hughes.

Other cast members we expect to see are Jay Hayden as Travis Montgomery, Okieriete Onaodowan as Dean Miller, Danielle Savre as Maya Bishop, and Boris Kodjoe as Robert Sullivan. While some of the recurring cast members will also be returning, one character we won’t be seeing is Brett Tucker’s Fire Chief Lucas Ripley. Unfortunately, Tucker’s character meets his demise in Season 3, inhaling deadly chemicals, while out on a call.

It is only one of the three significant deaths in Season 3, two of which concern the main characters of the show. Ryan Tanner, played by Alberto Frezza, is Andy’s best friend. He bites the bullet literally at the start of Season 3. Notably, the most prominent death in the season has been Captain Pruitt’s. A cave-in causes the captain to lose his life, trying to save his team.

Thus, Miguel Sandoval won’t return in Season 4 as a central cast member. He could be there as a guest actor, or a recurring cast member, as we see the various members of ‘Station 19’ grappling with Pruitt’s death.

Station 19 Season 4 Plot: What Can It Be About?

The premise of ‘Station 19’ basically revolves around the personal and professional lives of the firefighters. Season 3 sees them going through a lot. Andy loses his best friend and misses out on the chance to be the acting captain. While Season 4 will undoubtedly witness the crew members dealing with the fallout of these incidents, one of the major talking points of the upcoming season will be the death of Pruitt Herrera.

He was the team’s captain for three seasons and was well-loved by the members. Thus, his demise is sure to strike them hard, and a bit of the upcoming season might be about Station 19 trying to regain its footing in terms of efficiency, during critical missions.
