How did Steve Spurrier earn his money and wealth?

Stephen Orr Spurrier was born on April 20, 1945, in Miami Beach, Florida and is a 72-year-old former American Football player. He served for three colleges and two professional teams as the head coach. He graduated from the University of Florida and played while studying and was the Florida Gators starting quarterback for three seasons. His father changed congregations repeatedly resulting in several moves for the family. At 12 years of age, he began to earn his reputation as a good athlete. He married his college sweetheart Jerri Starr and they have four children and a bunch of grandchildren.

He was a three-sport letterman in Science Hill High School in Johnson City. As the starting pitcher for Science Hill, he never lost a game and led his team to two consecutive state ball championships. He played as a point guard on the basketball court and observers thought that he was best at basketball whereas his father thought he was good at baseball while he preferred playing football and improved himself as a quarterback.

He won multiple All-state honors in high school and was recruited in many sports by many colleges which include Duke, Alabama, Mississippi and both Air Force and Army. Tennessee never officially offered him football scholarship but one of his basketball coaches, Ray Mears offered him a scholarship which he declined.

Coach Ray Graves of the University of Florida visited Steve and took him to the university and told him that he fits into his coaching staff job. After which Steve decided to attend the university. Over 10 NFL seasons, he played a total of 106 games, 597 complete passes, 40 touchdowns and 60 interceptions.

He started his coaching career in 1977 as Florida quarterbacks and receivers coach. After that, he was appointed by Georgia Tech as the quarterback coach in 1979. Then he was hired by Duke in 1980 and in 1983, he was appointed by Tampa Bay Bandits. He was hired by Duke again in 1987 and then by Florida in 1990. In 2002, he was appointed by Washington Redskins and till 2015 he worked for South Carolina and the same year he retired.
