‘Stone House Revival’ is a reality series that first premiered on July 1, 2015, on DIY Network. The show features the renowned contractor Jeff Devlin as he tries to renovate extremely old properties into something modern. Jeff works on historic houses in and around his home state, Buck’s County, Pa.
These historic houses that we are talking about can date as far back as the 17th century. These dilapidated structures need renovation and care but at the same time, Jeff makes sure that he retains and preserves the historical integrity and charm of the place as well.
After three good seasons, fans are now asking the inevitable, whether there will be a ‘Stone House Revival’ Season 4. We delve into that, right after discussing the show’s details.
Stone House Revival Cast: Who’s in it?
Jeff Devlin is the host of the show. He is a renowned licensed contractor, carpenter, and the owner of SchoolHouse Woodworking, LLC. Apart from ‘Stone House Revival’, Jeff has also hosted shows like ‘I Hate My Bath’, ‘Spice up My Kitchen’, ‘Good, Better… Best’, and ‘Drill Team’.
Along with Jeff, the cast includes the mason – Ed Jakubowicz, general contractors – Steve Turbyfill, Jon Paul, Stephen Drummond, and Tony Biomonte, wallpaper installer – Peter Kuryluk, and more such experts.
Stone House Revival Plot: What is it about?
The show premieres with Jeff renovating a stone farmhouse that was built in 1785. He changes the look of the living room by redefining the 230-year-old fireplace. In the kitchen, he installs blue cabinets and a white quartz countertop.
When done with the living room and kitchen, Jeff also transforms the mudroom. When a stone house is as old as 315 years, then it becomes quite obvious that the character of the house will give a gloomy and dark vibe. Jeff decorates the master bedroom and library for the couple living in an old stone home and gives an entirely new character to its interiors.
What most of the historic houses miss, is the entertainment room. Chris and Catherine, owners of a 1706 stone home want to change that and seek Jeff’s help. Jeff not only creates a bar area for them, but also a billiards room. No matter how antique and beautiful old houses look when looked closely, there are tons of problems lying around. Steve and Ellis face the same problems and ask Jeff to help. Jeff works on the 1740 plaster walls that are crumbling to pieces and also works on the second floor, which is sagging completely.
In the following seasons, we see Jeff fixing an 1850 kitchen for Lauren and Dan, whose interior is crumbling down. Jeff has a lot of responsibility on his hand as he has to renovate almost the entire 1700 old stone home for Scott and Rhonda. The job takes a high stake when the stone home dates as far back as 1690.
The 1690 stone home requires the restoration of the living room. The team also attaches a vestibule to create a mudroom and uses vintage windows and stones in it, so that it blends well with the rest of the house. A couple inherits a 1700 stone home and the first thing they want to do is, remove the dated decor and let the historic aesthetic breathe. Jeff and his team do just that along with digging the fireplace and opening up a stairway.
In the last season, we see many historic houses with secrets passages and entrances. Jeff transforms the non-functional dining room and kitchen of a 1700 stone farmhouse and uncovers a surprise hidden in the mysterious fireplace.
An 1839 stone home needs some character added to its rooms and so, Jeff creates a floor-to-ceiling chimney and customized vanity space for it. If the interiors are fun, the exteriors are even more exciting when renovating an old stone home. Jeff uncovers a historic stone path while restoring the exterior of an 1802 stone farmhouse.
Stone House Revival Season 4 Release Date: When will it premiere?
‘Stone House Revival’ Season 3 premiered on April 18, 2018, on DIY Network. The season was spread across 9 episodes and the last episode released on May 23, 2018. The show is a hit among the audience and people love it. Everyone loves to watch historic and old things transform into something new and modern.
Though Jeff restores the age-old ancient houses but, he does not compromise with the house’s real archaic beauty. And probably, that is the main attraction of the show. People who like renovations, need ideas to decorate their houses or simply love some good old fashioned house transformations, are most encouraged to watch this show. It will prove to be a great binge-watch and of course, you will love Jeff Devlin as the host.
The show is a little late for the renewal but, we expect it to return very soon. Though there has been no official announcement yet, we believe it is likely that ‘Stone House Revival’ Season 4 will release sometime around May 2020.
