Nothing can be more rejuvenating than lazing by your swimming pool on a hot summer day and occasionally taking a plunge in its crystal clear, blue waters. With the progress in the market for home renovation, one of the components that are also witnessing a huge transformation is the design of both indoor and outdoor pools. In fact, nowadays, apart from the regular plain, rectangular pools, we see a plethora of innovative styles in these water bodies that grace our backyards. From tropical retreats and comprehensive spas to unconventional shapes and nature-inspired layouts, the options are never-ending. These modifications not only add character to your lawn and change the look of the entire landscape but also increase the value of your property.

However, in order to gather inspiration for these designs, we either turn to home remodeling websites or seek the advice of professionals. Entwining both these elements is the endless repertoire of home improvement shows on HGTV  — America’s ultimate destination for entertaining, relatable and inspirational home and lifestyle content. And ‘Supersize My Pool’ is another title in that long list. A reality show that deals only with swimming pool upgrades.

Supersize My Pool Cast: Who is in it?

‘Supersize My Pool’ is presented and hosted by actor and entertainment journalist, Mario Lopez. A familiar face in several series and movies, he is best known for his role of A.C. Slater on ‘Saved by the Bell’ and ‘Saved by the Bell: The College Years’. He has also appeared on other famed projects such as ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ and the syndicated entertainment news magazine show ‘Extra’. Additionally, he has featured as the host on the MTV show, ‘America’s Best Dance Crew’ and appeared alongside Khloe Kardashian as a co-presenter on the American counterpart of ‘The X Factor’.

Supersize My Pool Plot: What is it about?

Each episode of ‘Supersize My Pool’ follows Lopez as he helps families to lend an all-new appeal to their swimming pools. He has previously worked on home improvement projects with Houzz and he now uses this experience to guide families who need a backyard upgrade by remodeling their dated, lackluster pools. With clever tips and tricks, we see how these dull artificial water bodies get refurbished into resort-style paradises. Some of the huge renovations yield results that showcase a colossal and dreamy outdoor aquatic oasis, complete with oversized grottos, caves, waterslides, and hot tubs. He collects a wishlist of fantasy pool ideas from the homeowners and then incorporates them into his project, thereby, turning their dreams into an unbelievable reality.

For instance, one of the families featured on the show, seek Lopez’s help when they discover an ideal house with a huge yard. However, a chipped pool with a stained deck and an unattractive hill in the backdrop, kill the wonderful experience. Lopez steps in with his team to create the perfect yard with a water park, which showcases a waterslide, grotto, and a VIP cabana, ideal for entertaining guests.

As per Lopez, “I’m on a mission to help families turn their poor excuse of a pool into an outdoor paradise.” He further added, “People all over the country have sent me videos, and for a lucky few, my team and I will answer the call.”

Supersize My Pool Season 2 Release Date: When will it premiere?

‘Supersize My Pool’ season 1 premiered on July 6, 2019 on HGTV. It is an addition to the channel’s huge collection of unscripted home improvement programming, that includes other famous shows like ‘Flip or Flop‘, ‘Property Brothers‘, ‘Unspouse My House’, and ‘While You Were Out’, to name a few.

So, will ‘Supersize My Pool’ get renewed? HGTV is yet to come up with an official announcement and it is too early to say anything yet. However, we do know, multiple series on the platform have been greenlit for sequels, primarily because of their creative concepts. And who does not want to sit back and indulge in shows that inspire them to lend new looks to their havens? Hence, we would not be surprised if the makers decide to go for another season, depending on the audience’s acceptance and ratings (of course). And if this happens, we can expect ‘Supersize My Pool’ season 2 to release sometime in July 2020. We shall update this section with more concrete news as and when we learn more.
