Produced by Showtime and Bloomberg Politics, Season 1 of ‘The Circus’ first hit viewers’ screens on January 17, 2016, and, with 26 episodes, lasted 10 long months up until November 13, 2016 – it covered the 2016 US Presidential Elections. Subsequently, ‘The Circus’ returned again with Season 3 on April 15, 2018, and covered the run-up to the US Midterm Elections. After Season 3’s conclusion on November 11, 2018, ‘The Circus’ returned with Season 4 on January 27, 2019. Now, the question is whether the show will see a fifth season.

The Circus Season 5 Plot: What is it about?

While Season 3 of ‘The Circus’ covered the run-up to the US Midterm Elections, Season 4 followed events after it. The season premier went on to show the Democrat challenge to the Trump presidency in the aftermath of the party securing a majority in the House of Representatives. Season 4 follows the events to have taken place since then, including Trump’s declaration of a national emergency to secure funding for his US-Mexico border wall. Interestingly, the series also focuses on the upcoming 2020 US Presidential Elections, drawing to attention the candidates who are hopeful of contesting it.

In terms of reception, ‘The Circus’ has had a good run so far, receiving generally positive reviews from critics and audiences. Season 1 of the documentary series was given a score of 73% on Rotten Tomatoes, and critics praised it for showing the human element in candidates in the race to become President. However, it was criticized for failing to provide enlightened commentary on the events unfolding in the US. The Circus Season 5 Release Date: When will it premiere?

The finale of ‘The Circus’ Season 4 aired on March 10, 2019. However, it’s unlikely to mark the end of the show. Going by what ‘The Circus’ has done so far, it’s quite likely that the makers of the show will want to cover the run-up to, and the immediate aftermath of the 2020 US Presidential Elections.
