The Curse of Oak Island Season 7 Episode 18 Recap:

Titled ‘Turning Point’, the episode sees the team examining a mysterious formation of boulders around the swamp. The marked absence of vegetation makes the team feel that something might be up. They also hit upon lead and mercury, in the swamp. We are given a slice of history when we learn that Francis Bacon had detailed methods of how to preserve documents by putting them in mercury-filled containers.

Bacon, a scientist, and philosopher is believed to have been the head of the Rosicrucians. It is believed that this secret society buried the treasure on the island. The swamp is once again enshrouded in mystery, as the links with Templars and Freemasons, come to the surface.

Towards the end of the episode, the team also discovers an anomaly in the wall structure near the Ball foundation. Naturally, they question whether Samuel Ball, the man who lived on the island, might have hidden something there. For now, they have to rein in their curiosity, as they need a permit to investigate.

However, there is a good chance that the Lagina brothers are a permit away from making some serious headway about the Oak Island treasure. Only the upcoming episodes will tell.
