The Good Doctor Season 3 Episode 18 Recap:
Shaun Murphy does not take heartbreak in a good way and episode 18 stands testimony to this fact. The surgical resident has yet to vent out his feelings about Lea’s rejection when the latter had not agreed to be his girlfriend, citing Shaun’s autism as the reason. What happens earlier is, Shaun and Claire treat a patient named Finn, who has a rare form of dwarfism. But when it’s revealed than Finn had also been hiding his philandering habits, his girlfriend takes out her fury on his Porsche.
Shaun is inspired and he also wants to hurt Lea in a similar fashion. But he cannot bring himself to destroy her car. So he voices out his anger instead. He tells Lea: “You acted like you cared about me, but you don’t even respect me. You’re flaky, and you can’t keep a boyfriend. And you can’t keep a job. And no one likes you. And you’re going to end up alone, and you deserve it, because you’re a superficial, selfish and prejudiced person!”
On the other hand, Claire deals with her own emotions by dating Dash. But she cannot quite connect with him. Later, she realizes that she is falling for Melendez. Meanwhile, Morgan, whose rheumatoid arthritis has worsened, still wishes to pursue her profession as a surgeon and hence, decides to undergo synovectomy, which can prove risky for her joints in the near future. Although Glassman asks her to reconsider her decision, there’s nothing that can hinder her from implementing her resolution.
