The Haves And The Have Nots Plot: What is it About?

HAHN is about different families belonging to the different classes of society, meeting at a point, and how the meeting turns out to be. The setting is in Savannah, Georgia. The main focus is placed on the Cryer family that is highly respected and envied by people. The clan is well known for the picture-perfect image it has created in the society and also for the wealth they flaunt.

Everything seems perfect and enviable from outside, but from the inside, the family is highly vulnerable. The patriarch, Jim lives a flamboyant life dabbling in multiple affairs and is always accompanied by his most expensive escorts. Jim’s wife, Katheryn finds herself under pressure to maintain the picture-perfect image of the family in the society and is dedicated to achieving it no matter what it takes.

Katheryn is a loyal wife and a responsible mother to perfection. The couple’s son, Wyatt has a troubled life shuttling between home and rehabilitation center, while daughter Amanda is a law student who struggles to maintain her sanity. Things seem to be going fine until Amanda befriends Candace Young, a manipulative woman with the intention of ruining the Cryer family.

Candace has a vengeance towards the Cryers after she discovers that she is the daughter of Hannah, one of the escorts of Jim. Candace boils from inside as she sees the other children of Jim leading a rich and luxurious life while she and her mom are living in poverty. Hannah works as a maid for the Cryers. The feud between them forms the storyline.

In season 6, there are some major reveals. Hannah ends up telling Candace that her real dad is Derek. On the other hand, Wyatt loses his cool and ends up blowing off Jim and Katheryn with a shotgun. What holds for Wyatt is a major story arc that is explored in season 7, which continues to chronicle the Cryer, Harrington, and Young families as they fight for their very existence.
