‘The Quintessential Quintuplets’ is yet another harem anime that is slightly different from others of the same genre. It follows a pretty generic premise but what makes it stand out is its characters and its involvement of a never-seen-before quintuplet gimmick. Also, unlike other Harem shows out there, this one seems to be more “wholesome” because it avoids the use of excessive fanservice and focuses more on the development of its characters. In the first season, the art style is really good, considering the fact that it comes from a relatively smaller studio. Even the quality of its animation remains consistent throughout.
The sound and voice acting are precise and both of these aspects fit right in with their respective scenes. Even the opening and closing themes are very catchy and also have interesting lyrics. Overall, ‘The Quintessential Quintuplets’ is just a fun anime that can be enjoyed by anyone who is not looking for something serious. Many viewers were initially complaining about its ending which literally screamed, “Go read the manga”. But fortunately, the anime is now being renewed and to know more about what happens next in the story, you won’t necessarily have to rely on its source material.
