‘The Simpsons’ is an adult animated series whose yellow characters have become instantly recognizable due to the series’ popularity. In fact, it might just be a television show with the largest stake in popular culture. Having been around for 31 seasons, the series has consistently managed to provide effective social commentary with rib-tickling slapstick comedy.
Plus, one of the other hallmarks of the series has been its uncanny prediction of future events like Trump becoming the POTUS, the Ebola outbreak and countless others. The series follows the routine conflicts of the titular family living a middle-class life in the fictional town of Springfield. Homer Simpson heads the family of five and the plot of the animated series takes place in a “timeless” fashion, i.e. the characters do not seem to grow older.

The Simpsons Season 31 Episode 12 Recap:
The twelfth episode of the thirty-first season of ‘The Simpsons’ is titled ‘The Miseducation of Lisa Simpson’ and sees the Sea Captain get some screen space. He manages to find a treasure that he had been searching for his entire life. However, Springfield’s corrupt mayor Quimby takes the Sea Captain’s treasure away.
Then, the mayor asks the town’s residents to come up with an effective way to spend the newfound loot. Marge suggests opening a STEM school, to give the children of Springfield a chance to secure a decent professional future.
The new STEM school is opened soon and Lisa finds herself being accepted by her new classmates. The school’s curriculum is dictated by a secret computer algorithm. Since Bart is an underachiever, the STEM school prepares him for menial jobs like buying groceries for the rich.
Lisa manages to realize how the new school’s system is biased towards non-gifted students. Hence, she leads a protest with the other students. They rate the school’s social media profile poorly. The school’s artificial intelligence which is depicted to be extremely self-aware commits suicide due to the low ratings.
