‘The World According to Jeff Goldblum’ is developed by National Geographic and airs on the Disney streaming platform, Disney+. The documentary web television series follows its host Jeff Goldblum as he experiences the world through his own eyes. He presents his personal viewpoints on subjects and shares his POV on things, based on his knowledge gathered over the years.

Season 1 of the documentary opened to positive reviews since the series was mainly appreciated by fans of Goldblum. And we do know about the immense popularity of the ‘Jurassic Park’ alum. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a score of 79%, with the critical consensus saying: “While fans of the man will find much to like in this quirky and upbeat — if not terribly educational — docuseries, those not already attuned to his particular sense of style may not appreciate The World According to Jeff Goldblum.”

In order to appease fans, Disney renewed the show for a second season ahead of the first season finale. Here’s all we know about ‘The World According to Jeff Goldblum’ season 2.

Who’s the host of The World According to Jeff Goldblum?

‘The World According to Jeff Goldblum’ is hosted by Jeff Goldblum, as he goes around the globe in search of answers to how different inventions were conceptualized. These include tattoos, ice-creams, and sneakers, among others.

Goldblum is primarily known for his role in the ‘Jurassic Park‘ franchise. Apart from this, he has also acted in ‘Independence Day‘, ‘Invasion of the Body Snatchers’, ‘The Fly’, ‘Powder’, ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’, and ‘Thor: Ragnarok’. His tv credits include his appearance in ‘Law & Order: Criminal Intent’.

In season 2, Goldblum will return to resume his hosting duties.

What is The World According to Jeff Goldblum About?

We already know Jeff Goldblum for his appearances in a gamut of movies for decades. He is also famous for his charismatic personality when it comes to interviews and talk shows. Goldblum takes us on a virtual ride to explore regular things as he talks with people, cracks jokes, goes on a shopping spree, and even tries things he has never done before. We have never seen him in a reality show, walking on streets, and hence, ‘The World According To Jeff Goldblum’ definitely offers an impressive start.

Each episode approaches an apparently regular thing that we are so used to in our lives. It picks up our favorite items like sneakers or ice creams and then explores their history and evolution through the years. It’s surprising how these familiar items have so many remarkable connections, fascinating science, and extraordinary people behind their journey.

Watching ‘The World According To Jeff Goldblum’ is not only about insights. It is also about the host’s reactions to facts as he learns new information. There are obviously doses of interesting factoids and behind-the-scenes looks, which make the episodes engaging. In one episode, we follow Goldblum as he makes a trip to the laboratory of “Shoe Surgeon” Dominic Ciambrone. However, as viewers, we don’t get all the information presented directly. The show filters this learning through Goldblum’s reaction and his raw excitement for almost about everything and anything.

Each episode opens with Goldblum’s voiceover, where he introduces the topic to be explored in the next 30 minutes. He then holds discussions with experts, conducts experiments, and is amazed as he gains new insights. In the sneaker-specific episode, the host first travels to a convention, unboxes multiple products, and tells us about this signature fashion. We then witness Goldblum and his crew entering Adidas’ sports science department, where he discloses some additional facts.

So, if you want to gain a fresh perspective on the common things of everyday use, you should give this curiosity-filled series a try. The show brings in good, original content since it is produced and created by National Geographic. Additionally, the added star power makes ‘The World According To Jeff Goldblum’ more entertaining.
