The World’s Most Extraordinary Homes is a British travel, food and an adventurous documentary show that features actress and property enthusiast Caroline Quentin as well as an award-winning architect, Piers Taylor. They both travel the world while discovering unconventional homes. They take a tour of isolated mountains, coasts, forests and deep underground to uncover unique home units. The first season premiered on 6th January 2018 on BBC Two network. This documentary show is presented by Caroline Quentin and filmed in Switzerland. This British series discovers the world’s most unusual homes for the audience. It is produced by Wall to Wall Media and distributed by Warner Bros. Television. It is also aired in various other languages like English, French, Turkish, German, Italian and much more.
Each episode is based on a theme according to the house location and environment. Caroline and Taylor stay overnight at the homes and spend time to learn the works of architecture as well as to figure out the designs. They also provide us with insight into the successful architecture and showcase some extraordinary architectural marvels. In one episode, Caroline and Taylor take a journey to Norway in a speedboat. They find a beautiful house on the coast with four bedrooms. They then travel to Spain and enjoy eye-catching views of the scenery from a house that is built on a cliff. They also travel to New Zealand’s South Island to visit a wooden building in Marlborough Sounds. They also visit Canada to explore the Nova Scotia building that is inspired by a ship.

In the second season, actress and a property enthusiast Caroline Quentin, as well as an award-winning architect Piers Taylor, travelled to various locations to witness unique homes across the globe. Caroline and Taylor arrive in Portugal to explore four houses. They then visit a small hamlet called Jeurs in Switzerland. They take a journey to Japan and reside in Izura at House One. Caroline and Taylor take a trip to Florida and discover architectural heritage of the sites and high-end designs of the buildings. They also visit the Pyrenees located in the foothills in Spain. In Mumbai, they visit the House Cast in Liquid Stone which is located in the highlands of the suburbs. Inside the Vega Cottage on Vega Island located near the Arctic Circle, Taylor and Caroline enjoy their stay. In the last episode, they take a trip to Israel a palatial white home with lush interiors, the J-House house, and glass walls.
