This Is Us Season 3 Cast: Who is in it?

Given the dual timelines of the show, death doesn’t mean the end for a character, so we expected to see Milo Ventimiglia back as Jack Pearson, especially as the show brought back Ron Cephas Jones as Randall’s biological father William in season two after his heartbreaking death in the first season. Other guaranteed comebacks included Mandy Moore as Rebecca Pearson, Sterling K Brown as Randall Pearson, Chrissy Metz as Kate Pearson and Justin Hartley as Kevin Pearson, along with the stars that portray their teenage and younger selves. Susan Kelechi Watson as Randall’s wife Beth, Chris Sullivan as Toby Damon, Jon Huertas as Miguel Rivas and Alexandra Breckenridge as Sophie are also among those who returned for season three.

This Is Us Season 3 Plot: What is it about?

In the season finale of the second season, we saw Kevin leaving for Vietnam which gave us an idea that the show might explore Jack’s past in the military in the next season. In an interview with People, Milo Ventimiglia, who plays Jack, had confirmed that the third season will explore his time in the military.

“We’re definitely going to see Jack in the Vietnam era. At the end of the Super Bowl episode when people were ultimately confronted with how he passed away, there was a trailer to show Jack in a helicopter over Vietnam in uniform. We’re going to explore that side of Jack’s 20s and what brought him into the man that we all knew,” he said. This storyline included more information about Jack’s brother, Nicky.

The show focused on the year after Jack’s death and how the Big Three coped with the aftermath of Jack’s death. Rebecca and Miguel’s relationship will also be a focal point of the season. We saw some friction between Beth and Randall in season 2 with adoption and business. Their marriage was put through a test in season 3. There will be more flash forwards, and we will get to know about whom Randall and Tess were talking. The identity of ‘her’ was focused on and so was the backstory of Toby explored. The creators of the show revealed that the storyline of ‘her’ is “actually very heartbreaking.” Expect the next season to be another tear-jerker with a few twists and turns.

This Is Us Season 4 Release Date: When will it premiere?

Deadline reported that in January 2017, NBC picked up seasons two and three at the same time for a minimum of 18 episodes each. NBC confirmed that they were sticking to the usual late September slot for season three which premiered on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. A season 4 appears very much on the cards.

Dan Fogelman, the creator of the series, had told Entertainment Weekly way back in 2017 that he had the first four seasons of the show already planned out. “When you’re making a television show, you don’t even know that it’s going to get picked up, let alone become this giant thing that gets out of control, nor what people are going to respond to,” he told. “So we had a plan from day one. I delivered the script for the pilot, and I also had a pitch for the next four seasons of the show.”

No official air date for season 4 has been announced since it has not been renewed. Like its first three seasons, the fourth one will likely debut in late September. There’s also no official episode count, but we do know it’ll be at least 18 episodes, maybe more.
