Tito Ortiz was born on January 23, 1975 at Huntington Beach, California, U.S.A His original name is Jacob Christopher “Tito” Ortiz. He is a retired American combined mixed martial artist. With the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in the MMA world, he surprised everyone with his stints, where he is a former Light Heavyweight Champion, having held the title from April 14, 2000 to September 26, 2003, and Bellator MMA. Along with competitors like Randy Couture and Chuck Liddell, he was one of the sport’s celebrities.

Out of his fighting profession, Ortiz is the CEO of the Punishment Athletics MMA devices and outfits range. He has documented wins over many significant competitors, such as Wanderlei Silva, Vitor Belfort, Forrest Griffin, Ryan Bader, Evan Tanner, Chael Sonnen, and Ken Shamrock, whom he defeated three times.

Ortiz fought Frank Shamrock in 1999, for what is now known as the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship at UFC 22. Despite managing Shamrock for the greater part of the fight, Ortiz finished up losing via distribution due to strikes. Ortiz had defeated Silva for the Light Heavyweight Championship at UFC 25. With Yuki Kondo, Evan Tanner, Elvis Sinosic, Vladimir Matyushenko and Lion’s Den head Ken Shamrock, he went on for Light Heavyweight Championship for a list five times in the following three years. On Oct 6, 2008, Ortiz experienced back surgery treatment in Las Vegas, Nevada.

On Wed, Dec 17, 2008, Affliction Entertainment declared that Ortiz would participate in the broadcast group for the Affliction: Day of Reckoning. Ortiz had said he would fight again in August 2009, but this did not take place.

As a return to the UFC, Ortiz started coaching with his unique Brazilian jiu-jitsu and judo trainer Cleber Luciano. Ortiz initially qualified with Luciano back in 1997, when he was still a student at Golden West College. It was declared that Ortiz would come out of retirement on July 31, 2013 to deal with former coaching associate and other former UFC Light heavyweight Champion Quinton Jackson on November 2, 2013 at Bellator 106.
