How did Tom Petty earn his money and wealth?

Tom Petty, real name Thomas Earl Petty, was born on 20 October 1950 in Florida, US to Earl Petty and Katherine Petty. Since his childhood, Tom listened to music and learned how to play guitar. He joined a local music band called ‘Mudcrutch’ during his high school years and soon became the band’s frontman and also the primary songwriter. In the 1970s, the group gained a little popularity in Gainesville however the band’s recordings went unnoticed among the mainstream audience. Hence, the members of the group spilt after they released their only single called ‘Depot Street.’ Unfortunately, in October 2017, Tom passed away following a massive cardiac arrest.

Tom Petty was not only an American singer-songwriter but is also a record producer, multi-instrumentalist, and an actor. Tom moved to LA and collaborated with Ron Blair, Benmont Tench as well as Stan Lynch to develop the first lineup of the band called ‘Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’. Tom later made his solo album debut with ‘Full Moon Fever’ in the year 1989 which became a commercial as well as a critical success. It peaked at number 3 position in the Billboard 200 music chart. The band later released their eighth album called ‘Into the Great Wide Open’ in the year 1991 which was a commercial and critical success. Later, in the year 1996, the group released the ninth album called ‘Songs and Music from the Motion Picture “She’s the One.”’

Tom released his second solo album ‘Wildflowers’ which again was a commercial and critical success. In the next 2 decades, Tom released other albums with his group which includes ‘Echo’ in 1999, ‘The Last DJ’ in 2002, and ‘Mojo’ in 2010 as well as ‘Hypnotic Eyes’ (2014). Tom’s solo album Highway Companion’ was released in the year 2006 and peaked at number 4 position in the Billboard 200 music chart.
