Tony Yayo was born on 31 March, 1978 in South Jamaica, New York City, New York, United States. Not much is known about his family apart from his children. He has a daughter named Maniyah who was born in the year 2003 and a son named London, born in the year 2008. Tony Yayo is not only an American songwriter but also a rapper. He took his name from Tony Montana who featured in the movie “Scarface” and the slang word for cocaine.

He met his long-time friends Lloyd Banks and 50 Cent in New York and soon got associated with their record label called “G-Unit Records.” The first album of the group titled “Beg for Mercy” was released by the group in the year 2003 which successfully became certified double platinum. He has spent the year 2003 in jail and was later released in January 2004. He was arrested again and put in prison until May 2004. The second album of the group titled “T.O.S: Terminate on Sight” was released in the year 2008 which went on to have sold of 102,000 copies in its first week of release.

Tony Yayo’s solo debut album titled “Thoughts on a Predicate Felon” was released in the year 2005. In the year 2003, Tony Yayo signed a contract with “Interscope Records”. He was dropped out from “Interscope Records” in the year 2009. After being dropped from the label, the EMI Label Services announced that Tony Yayo signed a deal along with “G-Unit Records” in which EMI would distribute and advertise of the “G-Unit Records” in North America which included his untitled second album. Tony Yayo released the second single song of his upcoming album titled “Haters” in the year 2011. The song included appearances from 50 Cent, Roscoe Dash, and Shawty Lo. The single gained a lot of popularity and success on urban radio charts and also debuted on Billboard Hip-Hop/R&B chart.

Tony Yayo derives a Haitian descent and has worked with several charities and events to support the relief efforts. He has actively participated to help the Haitian people after the place was hit by the 2010 Haiti earthquake.

In the year 2007, Tony Yayo again faced legal charges and was arrested for allegedly assaulting a 14-year-old boy. In the year 2008, the charges filed against him were dropped. Yayo is the Chief Operating Officer (CEO) for the record label “G-Unit Philly”.
