In the 14th episode, Janine and CJ have the ‘talk’ with Jazmine when they find a vape pen and weed mints in her pocket. In the meantime, they also need to plan a birthday party for their Aunt Ella. Janine, however, believes that she is responsible for her daughter’s addiction in some way — since she herself has a history of drug abuse. Therefore, she is not only disappointed but also worried, angry, and apprehensive about the upcoming confrontation.
As the couple prepares to talk to Jazmine, Ella announces that she will lead the preps for her own birthday. But she does not know that Curtis is already making arrangements for the same party. On the other hand, the episode unravels that all the events that had taken place in ‘The Paynes’ were a part of Curtis’ dream.
However, once she learns about the vape pen, her excitement reaches a standstill. She works at the help center and knows about the implications of drug abuse. Ella understands how marijuana’s addictive properties can be harmful to young teens like Jazmine. The episode wraps up with CJ and Janine gearing up to confront Jazmine.
