And though she never intentionally sets off on a journey towards self-discovery, her job at the Postal Service somehow aligns with her destiny and sets her on a path towards finding the true meaning of her life. With every letter that she inscribes for her clients, she evokes a new kind of feeling within her. In the end, after truly understanding the words of her lover, she decides to move on ahead with life and accepts things as they come.
Gilbert Bougainvillea, a major in the Leidenschaftlich Army, belongs to an aristocratic family. He really admires Violet, but because of his identity as a soldier, he forced to keep all of his feelings to himself. As a memento, he gifts her an emerald brooch which has the exact same color as his eyes.
