How did Wale earn his money and wealth?

Olubowale Victor Akintimehin, known by his stage name Wale, was born on September 21, 1984, in Northwest, Washington, D.C. His first ever recorded track was “Rhyme of the Century”. In 2006 he was signed by a local label, Studio 43 under whom he released his first track called “Dig Dug (Shake It)” The song became the most requested song by a local artist in Washington D.C. radio history. He released various other singles which include “Breakdown” and “Uptown Roamers”. As of 2018, Wale’s net worth is $6 million.

In 2009, Wale released his debut album “Attention Deficit”, which debuted at the number 21 spot on the Billboard 200, and sold 28,000 copies in its first week. Wale also did a domestic tour titled “The Ambition Tour”, from October 2, 2011, to December 2011 which was spread over 32 venues. For his second album, Wale adopted a unique promotion strategy, where he unveiled a snippet on YouTube for as a preview to the album. Before the album was released, a private media listening event was also organized, where various music executives, bloggers, artists, and hip-hop heads were invited. The album was finally released On November 2, 2011, and it debuted at number two on the Billboard 200.

He released his next two albums in quick succession, with “The Gifted”, his third album releasing in 2013 and his fourth album “The Album About Nothing” was released in 2015. Wale released his fifth album “Shine”, on April 28th, 2017, which has received mixed reviews. Along with five studio albums, Wale has also released a total of eleven mixed tapes. His first mixtape was called “Paint a Picture” which came out in 2005. After which he released a mixtape every year except 2013and 2015.  His mixtapes are titled “Hate is the New Love”, “100 Miles & Running”, “The Mixtape about Nothing”, “Back to the Feature”, “More about Nothing”, “The Eleven One Eleven Theory”, “Folarin”, “Festivus”, “Summer on Sunset”, and “Before I Shine”.

Throughout his career, Wale has collaborated with a number of artists, including Lady Gaga, Pharrell, Bun B, Chrisette Michele, K’Naan, J.Cole, Wiz Khalifa, Waka Flocka Flame, John Mayer, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Tiara Thomas, DJ Clark Kent, Jerry Seinfeld, Jeremih, Usher, are just to name a few.

During his career, he has been nominated for a number of awards like BET Hip Hop Awards, Grammy Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, Nigeria Entertainment Awards, and Soul Train Awards.
