Warrior Nun Season 2

‘Warrior Nun’ is a fantasy adventure drama series that follows a young woman who gains superpowers and a new lease at life when she is branded as a paranormal warrior. Albeit reluctantly, she embarks upon a mission with an all-women group of fierce warriors to hunt down demons and other evil forces. Based on the comic book character Warrior Nun Areala by Ben Dunn, the show is created by Simon Barry.

Upon its premiere in July 2020, the supernatural series was lauded by the critics and audiences for its surprisingly upbeat tone, action-packed narrative, jaw-dropping twists, ultra-Catholic moral debates, and a thrilling performance by the lead, Alba Baptista. In case you are curious about the renewal and other details of ‘Warrior Nun’ season 2, here’s everything we know.

Warrior Nun Season 2 Release Date

‘Warrior Nun’ season 1 premiered in its entirety on July 2, 2020, on Netflix. It consists of ten episodes with a runtime of 45-50 minutes each.

As far as another season is concerned, here’s what we know. Although the network is yet to announce the cancellation or renewal of the occult detective series, the positive reception is an indication that the show might manage to surpass Netflix’s standard viewership yardstick. If that happens, the streaming giant might green-light the television adaptation of the graphic novel for a second season. If it does get renewed, we expect ‘Warrior Nun’ season 2 to release sometime in 2022 on Netflix.

Warrior Nun Season 2 Cast: Who is in it?

Portuguese actor Alba Baptista headlines the cast as Warrior Nun Ava. Tristan Ulloa joins the cast as Father Vincent, while Sylvia De Fanti appears as Mother Superion. Toya Turner essays the character of the gun-wielding warrior, Shotgun Mary. Emilio Sakraya plays Ava’s love interest, J.C.

The cast also includes Lorena Andrea as Sister Lilith, Thekla Reuten as Jillian Salvius, Kristina Tonteri-Young as Young Sister Beatrice, Joaquim de Almeida as Cardinal Duretti, Lope Haydn Evans as Michael and Olivia Delcán as Camila, among others. Except for a few, almost all the main characters are expected to reprise their roles in the second season. Season 2 can also feature some new additions in the cast.

Warrior Nun Season 2 Plot: What can it be About?

Season 1 revolves around a young paraplegic woman named, Ava, who has spent her whole life in an abusive orphanage until her death. While in the morgue, a nun brands a divine halo on Ava’s corpse, thus injecting life back into her lifeless body. After waking up, Ava discovers that she can not only stand on her own two feet but also kill demons using her new-found superpowers. She is filled with angst and disdain for the orphanage but is compelled to go on a mission to fight evil supernatural forces for the ancient order.

Throughout the season, Ava strives to strike a balance between her new and old life. However, she is joined by a group of fiery warrior nuns like herself, and together they head out to serve the good and save the earth. Multiple times in the season, Ava is forced to make difficult decisions that clash with her freedom, morality, and sometimes even her love life.

In Season 2, Ava might continue to explore her superpowers and learn to use it to save the good from all things evil. And to fulfill that purpose, Ava can hold hands with other warriors who might exercise their collective superpowers to prevent the earth from turning into hell. We can expect them to go out on a limb and fight demons, witches, ghouls, etc., to restore the order of the world.
