‘The Misfit Demon King Academy’ centers on Anos, the overpowered Demon King who destroys countless humans, mightiest gods and goddesses, and even other demons who dare to question his legacy. From the premise itself, one can tell ‘The Misfit Demon King Academy’ uses familiar archetypes of the fantasy genre. Although it isn’t exactly one of the gaming Isekai series, there’s something about its characters that reminds you of NPCs. But despite having a very familiar storyline and roster of characters, ‘The Misfit Demon King Academy’ manages to entertain you with its hit-or-miss punchlines and well-animated action scenes. The Misfit of Demon King Academy Season 2 Release Date: When will it premiere?
‘The Misfit Demon King Academy’ season 1 premiered on July 4, 2020, and with a total of 13 episodes, it finished airing on September 27, 2020. Produced by Silver Link Studio (‘Kokoro Connect,’ ‘Strike the Blood‘), the anime received average ratings on most platforms, though it has been heavily criticized for its stereotypical tropes. The fantasy harem genre is replete with overpowered anti-heroes and teen demon characters. Because of this, many critics pointed out that ‘The Misfit Demon King Academy’ brings nothing new to the table. In the long run, these reviews could negatively impact its overall streaming numbers and even the sales of its source material.
Although ‘The Misfit Demon King Academy’ is a pretty loyal adaptation of the original light novel series, it omits many important aspects of the storyline throughout its runtime. When it first premiered, its official Twitter account announced that the first 13 episodes would adapt the first three volumes of the light novels (check out the tweet below). This suggests that the creators of the anime still have five more volumes of the source to work with and will have six volumes worth of content by the end of the year. So clearly, there’s enough content for at least two more seasons of ‘The Misfit Demon King Academy.’
