The first two seasons of ‘Food Wars’ were enough to create waves in the world of modern shounen anime. Beyond that, ‘Food Wars’ experienced a steady decline in its quality but never lost its savory charm. It cannot be denied that the recent seasons of ‘Food Wars’ pale out compared to the initial few. However, the anime still continued to impress us with its hilarious fan service moments, judge reactions, and of course, mouth-watering recipes.
Many so-called Food Wars “connoisseurs” have been rooting for the series through thick and thin. Regardless of the kind of content, it offered lately, the die-hard fans of the show have stuck to it and would continue doing the same till eternity. However, considering that ‘Food Wars’ has been airing for such a long time now, one can’t help but wonder if we’ll get to see more of it in the future. Food Wars Season 6 Release Date: When will it premiere?
Many anime viewers were pretty confident that the fourth installment of ‘Food Wars’ would be its last season. But to everyone’s surprise, J.C Staff Studio released its fifth season, which premiered on April 11, 2020, and finished airing on September 26, 2020. Like most anime of this season, its runtime was broken down by several intermittent breaks. However, the anime remained unaffected because of its massive, loyal following.
The anime’s fan base continues to grow, and as of March 2020, over 20 million copies of its manga are in print. Although its overall ratings have declined with each season, the anime still maintains an average score on most platforms, suggesting that most fans would love to watch more of it. Unfortunately, season 5 is the last installment of the series. When season 5 was first announced, it was confirmed that it would be taking on the final BLUE arc of the manga, beyond which there’s no more source material content.
Considering the popularity of the franchise, we might get to see some original special episodes or OVAs in the future. However, that, too, seems very less likely. So if you’ve been a big fan of the series all this while, it’s about time you move on and check out other great shounen anime.
