How did William Shatner earn his money and wealth?

William Shatner was born on March 22, 1931, in Montreal, Canada. He has had a career in television that spans seven decades where he has been an author, producer, and director and of course an actor.

He belongs to a Conservative Jewish household in the in the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce neighborhood. His mother was Anne (née Garmaise), and father was Joseph Shatner who worked as a clothing manufacturer. He was the only brother among his two other sisters, Joy and Farla. Shatner was a student at the Willingdon Elementary School and West Hill High School in the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce neighborhood. He has also attended Montreal Children’s Theatre. Later, in Montreal, Canada, at the McGill University Faculty of Management, he pursued Economics and graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Commerce. The McGill University decided to honor him with their Doctorate of Letters in June 2011. He also got them awarded by the New England Institute of Technology.

Shatner began his career with a Canadian movie named ‘Butler’s Night Off’ in 1951. Some of his early work includes movies like ‘The Intruder,’ ‘Judgment at Nuremberg,’ ‘The Outrage,’ and ‘White Comanche.’ William also starred in the original star trek series and held the role for three years before the show was canceled in 1969. He also lent his voice to the character of Captain Kirk in the animated Star Trek series.

He also worked in guest roles in several shows like ‘The Six Million Dollar Man,’ ‘Columbo,’ ‘The Rookies,’ ‘Kung Fu,’ ‘Ironside,’ and ‘Mission: Impossible.’ Shatner, along with the other original cast of the Star Trek came back in 1979 with the movie ‘Star Trek: The Motion Picture.’ He also appeared in the next six Star Trek movies before his character was killed in 1994 in the movie titled ‘Star Trek Generations.’ Shatner also played the lead role in the television series ‘T.J. Hooker’ and also hosted the show ‘Rescue 911’ from 1989 to 1996. Shatner is also an author and written many books which are very successful and are based on science fiction. He published his first book titled ‘TekWar’ in 1989. In 1999 he wrote a book called ‘Get a Life!’ He appeared in a movie called ‘Miss Congeniality’ and ‘Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and fabulous’.

Shatner played an Emmy Award-winning role in the legal drama show ‘The Practice.’ He starred in another legal drama ‘Boston Legal’ and won an Emmy and Golden Globe for his performance and also got nominated for Emmy in 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009. In 2008, Shatner released his autobiography titled ‘Up Till Now: The Autobiography.’ He made his entry in the singing world with the album ‘The Transformed Man’ in 1968. His second studio album was called ‘Has Been’ came out in 2004 followed by the third ‘Seeking Major Tom’ in 2011 and fourth album ‘Ponder the Mystery’ in 2013.
