Willie Nelson, real name Willie Hugh Nelson, was born on 29 April 1933 in Texas, US to Ira Doyle Nelson and Myrle Marie. Soon after his birth, his mother left the family and a sometime later, his father also abandoned the family. Later, Willie along with his sister lived with their grandparents in Arkansas. His grandfather gifted him a guitar when he was 6. By the time Willie turned 7, he had started writing his own songs.
