How did the Ying Yang Twins earn their money and wealth?
The Ying Yang Twins are an American hip hop duo comprising of the singers Eric Jackson who is otherwise and popularly known as Kaine and Deongelo Holmes aka D-Roc. D-Roc was born on the 23rd of February in 1979 and Kaine was born on the 16th of December in 1978.
The Ying Yang Twins debuted in 1997 and is said to be inspired by The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. They went on to create The Whisper Song by Shhh records and the single Whistle While You Twurk after being motivated by the latter.The urban and pop radio stations played Whistle While You Twurk and the song ended up at #17 on the US R&B/Hip-Hop chart. The Twins were much noticed following their tour called King Me with Juz the King, Kat Nu, and Demo Dil. It was later in 1997 that the full- length album of the Ying Yang Twins Thug Walkin’ was released. It was in 2002 that their next album Alley: The Return of the Ying Yang Twins appeared on Koch. The album was a hit among the Southern United States hip-hop enthusiasts. After much negotiations, the Ying Yang Twins was signed with TVT Records after the launch of Atlanta hip-hop star Lil Jon following the talks between A&R Bryan Leach and representative Michael ‘DJ Smurf’ Crooms. In 2002, the duo was seen on the single Get Low from the album Kings of Crunk by Lil Jon. The song became a great club and radio hit.
The Twins rose to the peak of popularity internationally in 2003 after their teaming up with Britney Spears in her album In the Zone for which they sang the song I Got That Boom Boom that also had a television special of the same name.It was in 2005 that the Twins’ debut album for TVT Records Me & My Brother hit the shelves. It went on to become platinum certified and earned three more hits Whats Happnin!, Naggin and Salt Shaker. Salt Shaker was in collaboration with Lil Jon and was a massive hit.
In 2006, the duo released their fifth album Chemically Imbalanced pairing up with producers Wyclef Jean and Keith Duplessis. The album Ying Yang Forever was released in 2009 following which the Twins embarked on a tour titled Ying Yang Forever Tour. The song Halftime by Ying Yang Twins is a constant in many NFL Football stadiums and is the unofficial anthem of the New Orleans Saints.
